The surgery

The surgery took the full day, we started at around 7:30 and were done at 17. All started with my hair being shaved off, first time in my adult life I was seeing myself bold, which was funny.

After explaining the procedure once again the team started with anesthetic injections, some of the more painful than the others and then proceeded with extracting her from donor area. Either due to anesthetics or lack of coffee I slept through half of the procedure.

There was a short break for lunch, I ate quite a lot which put me back to sleep :-) During the procedure there were a few interns observing and at the certain point also replacing the leading doctor, since I was not aware of this set up it made me feel a little bit uncomfortable.

After the surgery

All in all the whole procedure went smooth and was not annoying despite the fact that it took the whole day.

I have been thinking for a while about the hair transplant...

I started losing more hair at the age of 30. I tried a few topical treatments but they just slowed the hair loss process a little bit.

I am now based in Budapest and one day browsing for information on hair transplant I realized that Hungary seems to be one of the key destinations in Europe for hair loss treatment.

After having visited a number of websites, forums etc. I called 3 of them and visited 2. Process were comparable and I chose HairHungary due to the very professional consultation with full information about the procedure. Also the post surgery follow up seems to be much more thorough than at the other clinics.

I had to change the date of the surgery twice due to work commitments so finally when the day arrived I was not really nervous or anything. The main concern I had was how long it would take to heal.

Before hair transplant

The day before the surgery I stopped drinking coffee, tea and alcohol as advised by the doctor, something that proved in the coming days quite challenging to keep up with.
